Simple tips to reduce bruising and swelling after Botox Treatment

A lot can be done to reduce bruising and swelling resulting from injectables! Here are our few most-tested recommendations:

[if !supportLists]1. [endif]Avoid taking Ibuprofen or Aspirin a week before your treatment. Make sure to confirm with your physician if you take those for high blood pressure or heart condition.

[if !supportLists]2. [endif]Stop taking vitamin E, garlic, fish oil or ginkgo biloba for a week before as these can also contribute to the risk of bruising. Consider taking arnica tablets a few days before your Botox treatment.

[if !supportLists]3. [endif]It is usually a better idea to avoid heavy aerobic exercise on the day and after your treatment. As blood flow to the tissue rises, so are your chances of bruising!

[if !supportLists]4. [endif]Most dermal fillers carry hyaluronic acid. This pools water to the area of injection, particularly right after treatment. Refraining from exercising for 24-48 hours after the Botox treatment is highly recommended. This minimises the risk of extreme swelling and bruising, which can happen if small blood vessels get ruptured during any strenuous physical activity. Avoiding steam sessions and saunas is also a good idea.

[if !supportLists]5. [endif]Avoid flying for 2-7 days after dermal filler or Botox injection, as the cabin pressure changes may affect how the filler settles and may prolong any ill effects.

[if !supportLists]6. [endif]Finally, applying a cold compress (not ice cubes) immediately at the injection site can be helpful in reducing the swelling.

7. Use Proboxin at the injection site - Proboxin is the next-gen formulation designed specially created to reduce the unwanted side-effects of Botox injections and Dermal Fillers. This Botox aftercare cream should be used for at least seven days post-treatment, once in morning and once at night. The formulation has chosen organic ingredients which aid healing and minimise recovery time.
